Freshman Oilers defeated Marina 9-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Oilers got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Oilers.
Oilers scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Oilers was led by Easton Shortle, Dane Cunningham, Nathan Sammartano, and Jason Dunham, all driving in runs in the inning.
Dunham was credited with the victory for Oilers. The righthander surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out seven. Jared Marchbank and Ream entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Oilers racked up ten hits in the game. Sammartano and Dunham each had multiple hits for Oilers. Dunham and Sammartano all had two hits to lead Oilers. Oilers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
