Freshman Oilers were victorious against Cypress 6-3 on Wednesday.
Oilers captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the fourth when Benny Breese singled, scoring one run, Jaxon Greer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and an error scored one run.
Jaxon Vilardi opened the game for Oilers. The righty surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Breese threw two innings of scoreless ball for Oilers in relief. They gave up zero hits, striking out three and walking two.
Oilers tallied nine hits in the game. Rex Fox, Breese, and Brady Guth each collected two hits for Oilers. Breese, Guth, and Maxx Hopkins each drove in one run for Oilers. Guth stole two bases.
