Freshman Oilers defeated Corona Del Mar Sea Kings 8-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Dane Cunningham struck out Jen to finish off the game.
Oilers secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the seventh inning. The rally was led by doubles by Owen Bone and Charlie Henderson, a single by Cunningham, a home run by Easton Shortle, and a fielder's choice by Nathan Sammartano.
Jason Dunham was credited with the victory for Oilers. The righty allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Cunningham threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Dunham led Oilers with two hits in three at bats. Oilers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
