Huntington Beach Junior Varsity Oilers rally a win against Fountain Valley Barons on Saturday, 5-1
Barons got things started in the second inning. Fountain Valley Barons JV scored one run when Nathan Martinez singled.
In the bottom of the third inning, Oilers tied things up at one when Cole Clark grounded out, scoring one run.
In the fourth, Matthew Haidl hit a first pitch solo homer and the Oilers pulled away for good.
Oilers scored three runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by a walk by Clark, a single by Micah Riola, and a fielder's choice by Russell Lopez.
Andrew Berdelis led things off on the hill for Oilers. Berdelis surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Tanner Edson led Oilers with two hits in four at bats.
