Junior Varsity Oilers took the lead late in the game in a 10-4 victory over Gahr Gladiators on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Oilers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Russell Lopez tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.
Lopez led Oilers to victory by driving in five runs. Lopez went 2-for-3 at the plate. Lopez drove in runs on a double in the fourth and a triple in the fifth.
Otto Espinoza led things off on the hill for Oilers. The ace went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out six.
Oilers racked up ten hits. Fred Angiuli, Matthew Haidl, and Lopez all collected multiple hits for Oilers. Lopez, Haidl, and Angiuli each managed two hits to lead Oilers. Oilers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
