Junior Varsity Oilers grabbed an early lead on its way to a 6-1 victory over Fountain Valley Barons JV on Friday. Oilers scored on a home run by Cole Clark in the second inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Oilers tied things up at one when Fred Angiuli hit a sacrifice fly ball to center.
Oilers pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Clark homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
Jake Frohn was on the mound for Oilers and went five innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out seven.
Oilers collected seven hits on the day. Edson and Angiuli each managed two hits to lead Oilers. Oilers was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
