Oilers took the lead late and defeated Fountain Valley Barons 4-2 on Friday. The game was tied at one with Oilers batting in the top of the seventh when Aidan Espinoza homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
Oilers opened up scoring in the second inning. Brian Trujillo hit a solo homer.
Barons knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the sixth inning, when T Grack tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Nathan Aceves led things off on the hill for Oilers and surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Oilers hit two home runs on the day. Trujillo put one out in the second inning. Espinoza had a long ball in the seventh inning.
Ralph Velazquez led Oilers with three hits in four at bats.
