Saturday's game against Notre Dame Knights was a heartbreaker, that ended in an 8-6 defeat. Notre Dame Knights was down 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Colin Brown singled on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.
Oilers collected eight hits and Notre Dame Varsity Knights had eight in the high-scoring affair.
Oilers got things started in the second inning when CJ Weinstein grounded out, scoring one run.
Sam Petrocellli was on the pitcher's mound for Notre Dame Varsity Knights. The ace lasted three and a third innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out three.
Tyler Bellerose started the game for Oilers and went five and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out four. Colin McNiven and Gavin Pacheco entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one-third of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
Oilers racked up eight hits. Brian Trujillo, Aidan Espinoza, and Dean Carpentier each had multiple hits for Oilers. Carpentier, Espinoza, and Trujillo each managed two hits to lead Oilers.
